England played Ivory Coast earlier today and cruised through with a dominant 3-0 display. Raheem Sterling and Jude Bellingham starred in what was to be a stroll in the park for The Three Lions.
Nick Pope : 6/10 Didn’t have much to do all game, but the clean sheet was kept.
Tyrick Mitchell : 7/10. Solid defensively, had Pepe in his back pocket. Not too much to offer going forward but still a good all-round performance.
Tyrone Mings : 7/10. Once again, up to scratch defensively. None of the Ivorian forwards had much to say all game, largely down to a good team display. Got a goal right at the end to cap off a solid performance.
Harry Maguire: 6/10. Admirable performance from Maguire tonight, especially in comparison to some of his recent performances for Utd. Drove the ball forward well and picked up some good passes aswell.
Ben White: 6/10. Played well despite being out of his preferred position. Got forward more often than his full back compatriot, but still a more than competent performance from the pair.
Declan Rice: 6/10. Quiet for the majority of the game. Did his role and did it well. Stayed back and allowed the likes of Bellingham to push forward more, which was very effective in the end. Good awareness to intercept a few passes and prevent the opportunity of a counter attack.
James Ward-Prowse: 6/10. Similar to Dec, did his role and did it well. Some good passes to switch the direction of play and was for the most part, efficient on the ball.
Jude Bellingham: 8/10. Top notch performance from the youngster. Impressive defensively and with his creativity getting forward. Unlucky to have hit the post, but I thought his performance was more than worthy of a goal. Well played lad.
Jack Grealish: 7.5/10. Much more like the £100 million pound Jack Grealish we expected to get. Beautiful cut back for Sterlings goal and generally looked a threat when in possession out wide and cutting inside.
Raheem Sterling: 9/10. Man of the match for me. Laid a perfect ball on a plate for Watkins after some clever footwork and then got a well deserved goal too. Looked a constant threat when on the attack and won some free kicks in dangerous positions. Well in Raz.
Ollie Watkins: 6.5/10. Good awareness to get to the ball before the defender and involved in the second goal with a good layoff to Sterling, eventually resulting in a goal.
Substitutes:
Luke Shaw: 5/10 Didn’t make any mistakes but didn’t show any intent with the ball, despite having a 2 goal lead.
Kyle Walker-Peters: 5/10. Had a bit more intent to create some opportunities but didn’t amount to anything. Probably not going to see much more of him, unless both James and Alexander-Arnold find themselves injured again.
Harry Kane: 5/10. Didn’t really get too much service, but when he was offered it, he did not pounce on the opportunity. Only had half an hour to make a difference.
Emile Smith-Rowe: 5.5/10. Tried to make things happen in the second half. Looked particularly dangerous cutting inside from left. Again, not much time to make a difference.
Phil Foden: 6/10. Got an assist with seconds left on the clock, but otherwise not too heavily involved in what was a boring second half. Some signs of good link up play with Walker-Peters but again didn’t really amount to anything.
Conor Gallagher: 5/10. Literally had hardly any time to do anything influential go to the side. Came on with approximately 10 minutes and saw out the lead which he was most likely brought on to defend.

Bit harsh for the ratings on the subs, esr was far better then foden when he came on.

Maybe a bit harsh on Emile because I did think he played better than Phil. Purely based off the fact Foden managed to get a goal contribution right at the end. Thanks for your opinion though, Billy.

Agree with most of these. Thought you were a bit harsh on Ollie and a bit lenient with Foden. Hope we see more of these in the future
